O’HOOLEY’S TO JACKIE O’S
O'Hooley's came to life in 1995 and held a ten-year reign as one of Athens's most popular Irish brewpubs. In 2007, it became the shining gem that is now known as Jackie O's! The original O’Hooley’s Irish Brewpub first became a central pillar to the community of Athens by focusing on the local economy and using locally inspired and produced products.
O’Hooley’s opened just 7 years after the legal drinking age was raised from 19 to 21. Even then, O’Hooley’s attracted Ohio University students for its unique culture and its popular ‘80s Dance Night hosted on Thursdays.
The ‘80s and ‘90s in Athens was a time when the community was known for the university and its incredible music scene.
In 2005, O’Hooley’s was purchased by current owner, Art Oestrike. Located at 24 W Union Street, O’Hooley’s became Jackie O’s in 2007, named after Oestrike’s late mother, Jackie Oestrike.
When it transformed into Jackie O’s, their mission was to brew local, specific beer that’s only available in the city of Athens, and to commit to using as many locally sourced products as possible.
Fast forward to today, Jackie O’s has become such an Athens icon for students and alumni everywhere, they are expanding!

Our O’Hooley’s merchandise is classic, yet versatile to fit everyone’s preferences. We offer different apparel styles for any Ohio University alumni or Athens locals who wish they had an O’Hooley’s T-shirt when it was still around.
Featuring the classic O’Hooley’s logo in white, we offer comfy long sleeve shirts, crewnecks, and hoodie sweatshirts in green. We also carry a classic O’Hooley’s T-shirt that is available in green or black with the O’Hooley’s white logo.

Our O’Hooley’s pint glasses can be purchased in sets of two, or as part of a mix and match set of four. You can choose from your favorite current Athens bars like C.I, Tony’s or The Pub, or even from defunct bars like Mr. Bojangles or The Nickelodeon! We also have Ohio University pint glasses available for mix and match.
